@thelatestkate  is one of our absolute favorite illustrators; she not only fills our screens with out-of-control cuteness on a regular basis, she also tackles topics like coping with depression and anxiety, loving yourself, being confident, and embracing your own awesomeness. 

Today, she reveals how making the difficult decision to leave her religion changed her life for the better, despite all the challenges she faced along the way. We hope her story inspires you as much as it did us! 

Time for something really personal!
I’m grateful to @sparkitors for offering me the opportunity to tell my story. It’s something I’ve always wanted to share, but I have refrained because I’ve been too scared of hurting others. I’ve realized, though, that keeping personal experiences like this secret is what makes them taboo, and it perpetuates the loneliness of going through an emotionally difficult experience alone. So, here it is; my exit from religion story. Thanks for viewing. <3
